How To Check Your Gut Transit Time
LET'S TALK POOP 💩
It's the number one indicator of your overall gut health. You can get so much information from someone's bowel movements.
💩 Pooping 2-3 times per week is NOT normal. Believe it or not, we should be having 2-3 healthy bowel movements per day! Yes PER DAY! If you are having 1 good healthy one a day and feel empty then I would not worry.
💩 We need regular bowel movements to have healthy hormones and eliminate toxins your liver has processed and doesn’t need anymore. If we don’t, these get recirculated back into the bloodstream causing hormonal havoc, additional stress on the liver and can contribute to an imbalance of bacteria in the gut leading to even worse GI symptoms.
💩 Want to know what is normal? Look at #4 on the chart. That is what we should be aiming for most of the time. At least 1x a day (2-3x even better but ideally no more than 4x).
This means, soft and well-formed, not seeing undigested food in it, no straining, not greasy, not sticking to the toilet, doesn't take lots of paperwork, sticky or floating, and feels like a full elimination.
Some things that can be told by your bowel movements. 👇
💩 Dysbiosis, Parasites, SIBO, SIFO, IBS, IBD, Overall inflammation, food allergies, sensitivities and intolerances, Leaky gut, malabsorption, GI bleeds all can be ascertained from the look, color, texture, smell, consistency, and frequency of your bowel movements.
